The new variety ‘CBRZ0046' was selected in December of 2015 based on plant vigour, plant growth habit, flower colour and time of flowering.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘CBRZ0046' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2024 at Bioflora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 30 cm hanging baskets on April 25, 2024. Each basket contained 4 cuttings with a total of 5 baskets per variety. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, on May 28, 2024. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
