Summary: The flower of ‘CBRZ0047' is wider than that of ‘Balcabightlu'. The flower of ‘CBRZ0047' has a weak to medium degree of lobing whereas that of ‘Balcabightlu' has a strong degree of lobing. The corolla of ‘CBRZ0047' has a strong conspicuousness of veins whereas that of ‘Balcabightlu' has a weak conspicuousness of veins. The inner side of the corolla lobe of ‘CBRZ0047' has a medium sized area of colour at the transition to the corolla tube whereas that of ‘Balcabightlu' has a small area.

Origin & Breeding History: ‘CBRZ0047' originated from a controlled cross between the female parent, a proprietary seedling designated ‘CAL2703-1V', and the male parent variety ‘Cabaret Light Pink' conducted in Gilroy, California, USA on July 14, 2016. The new variety ‘CBRZ0047' was selected on June 2, 2017, based on flower size, flower colour and flower vein colour.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘CBRZ0047' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2025 at Bioflora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 30 cm hanging baskets on April 22, 2025. Each basket contained 4 cuttings with a total of 5 baskets per variety. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, on June 3, 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
